FrieslandCampina Gerkesklooster reduces its ecological footprint with a significant water saving. This is done by no longer mainly extracting process water, needed in the factory, from outside sources, but by extracting it from the whey produced by the factory. This saves over 100 million liters of water annually and makes the location for this raw material 70 percent self-sufficient.
