Cold returns, raising risks for Ukrainian wheat
After a milder period at the end of last week, the frost is returning to Ukraine. Now that the snow has melted, this could pose major problems for winter grains, warns the Ukrainian farmers' union. In Russia, wheat has actually come through the winter relatively well. SovEcon thus made a significant increase in the yield forecast. However, the most dangerous period for wheat is yet to come, according to the market bureau. In the US, farmers for the upcoming season prefer soybeans over corn, as indicated by a Bloomberg survey.
