Oil prices slightly calmer after stormy start to the week

The price of gas oil has skyrocketed. The demand for diesel is high due to commercial use by trucks, (agricultural) machines, and inland shipping. A lot of diesel is refined in Europe, but there is also a significant amount of imports due to high demand. Not all oil is equally suitable for diesel production. With the phasing out of Russia as a supplier, Europe has become more dependent on imports from the US and the Middle East.
