Container freight rates continue to climb as peak season arrives early

The container shipping market moved decisively higher again this week. The Drewry World Container Index rose by 3% to USD 2,800 per 40-foot container, with the strongest gains recorded on the Asia–Europe and Asia–North America trade lanes.
