Unexpected turnaround in the pig and pork sector

The DCA EU-5 Piglet Price Index had a strong increase in Week 33 by €3.75 to €33.20 per piglet, up from €29.45 in the last week. The European pig sector continued its upward trend, turning the market around. The DCA EU-6 Live Pig Price Index also increased by 3 cents to €1.19 per kg, and the DCA EU-6 Pork Carcass Price Index rose by 4 cents to €1.53 per kg.
