Green light for major acquisition by Tönnies

The Bundeskartellamt has given the green light for the acquisition of Germany's second-largest sausage maker The Family Butchers by the Premium Food Group, the holding above meat processor Tönnies. The market regulator came up with a fairly unique ruling. According to the German competition authority, there will still be just enough competition in the market after the transaction.
