EU cattle herd stabilizing slowly but surely

The structural decline of the European cattle herd remained clearly visible in 2025. The EU27 bovine inventory continued to fall, although the latest year-on-year decline was much smaller than the sharp drop recorded in 2024. The contraction remains heavily concentrated in France and Germany.
